Purpose

Ensure consistent, complete onboarding for all new employees to set them up for success.


Onboarding Timeline

Pre-Start Checklist (Before Day 1)

HR Tasks:

  • Offer letter signed and returned
  • Background check completed
  • Drug test completed (if required)
  • Start date confirmed
  • Work location identified
  • Supervisor notified
  • Email/system access requested
  • Equipment ordered (computer, phone)
  • Workspace prepared
  • New hire paperwork prepared
  • Benefits enrollment info ready
  • First day schedule communicated

Supervisor Tasks:

  • Review job description
  • Prepare training plan
  • Assign buddy/mentor
  • Notify team of new hire
  • Prepare work assignments

Day 1 Checklist

  • First team meeting attended

By End of Week 1:

  • All orientation sessions complete

First 30 Days Checklist

  • Process/procedure training

  • Regular work assigned
  • Performance expectations clear

Administration:

30-Day Check-In:

90-Day Review:
