Important Exceptions
Discovery Rule
Some states allow the deadline to start when you discover the problem, not when it occurred.
Tolling
The deadline may be paused ("tolled") if:
- Defendant is out of state
- Defendant is a minor
- You're in active negotiations
- Court orders a stay
Contractual Limitations
